For over 50 years the G D Chalmers name has been synonymous with excellence on the field of electrical rewiring and associated services. In recent years we have grown to a turnover of over £12m whilst engaging upwards of 100 employees.
In partnership with most of the Local Councils in Scotland we have specialised in the rewiring of Council owned housing estates. We have successfully completed contracts throughout Scotland ranging in size from 100 homes, up to our largest commitment of 85,000 homes on behalf of Glasgow City Council.
Managing multi-million pound projects such as the refurbishment of complete housing estates, including houses, apartments and multi-storey buildings requires more than just skilled trades. Our supervisors and managers have the experience of a wide range of projects delivering effective planning, scheduling and completion whilst maintaining the highest level of safety and security.
In conjunction with our rewiring services, we further undertake all types of building refurbishment and maintenance encompassing all trades through heating, plumbing, carpentry and building.
GDC hac been awarded a framework contract by Trust Housing Association to install electric central heating systems in various locations throughout Scotland. Initial work commenced on the Isle of Arran, during January 2015, utilising super high efficient Quantum systems by Dimplex heating.
Managing Director, Thomas Morrow, welcomes to the team our latest member, Cillian Boyle, from Kilmarnock, as an apprentice electrician. Cillian will commence work in February 2014, and will attend Kilmarnock college on a day release basis to compliment his practical training.
